Constantine II, as Caesar, 316-337. Follis (Bronze, 18 mm, 2.70 g, 6 h), a contemporary imitation of an issue from Arelate. Irregular mint, after 324. CONSTANTINVS IVN NOB CAES Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Constantine II to left. Rev. PROVIDEN-TVAE AVGG / TA(crescent)RL Campgate with open doors and two turrets; above, star. Cf. RIC 286 and 289 (for possible prototype). Slightly smoothed, otherwise, good very fine.

This irregular coin is a hybrid, combining a caesar obverse with a reverse for Constantine I. It imitates a camp gate coin from Arles, from the emission of 325-326.
